GWLS on Flickr

We've just created a Flickr group for people to share their pics & thoughts about this years GWLS.

You can find the group here -

I've uploaded a load of photos to it already; have a browse or sign up & share your own photos :-)

Sunday Update

Saturday was a great day ... exhausting, but rewarding. After a quick refuel & recharge over night, we're back in the hall for Sunday :-)

There were already queues outside the museum when we arrived, but they were moving quickly once the doors opened (they seem to be moving quicker than previous years). It's a beautiful day out there, but that doesn't seem to be damping the interest of the public!

The hall has filled up quickly, but the staff have done a few things to stop it getting quite as hot as yesterday, so hopefully things will be a little more comfortable.

Hope to see you all later!

GWLS 2011 - New sets on show

There's a great surprise for visitors to GWLS in the form of not one but two unreleased official sets - on display are the 'Mini Modulars' set announced at the fan event in Denmark last weekend, and the newly announced 'Kingdoms Joust' set. Both are LEGO exclusives & will be available to buy in January 2011.

You can read more about the two sets here -

GWLS 2011 - first day going great so far!

It's afternoon on the first day; the number of public visitors has been similar to previous years - we feared that with the unseasonal good weather the numbers might have be down, but that doesn't seem to be the case!

The mosaic is slowly taking shape, there's lots to see & do, and everyone I've spoken to has said they are having a good time.

If you're planning to visit us later today or tomorrow, be warned that it's very warm in the museum, so dress appropriately!

6000th Visitor

It's 1pm and we've just had the 6000th visitor through the door here at GWLS 2010; the lucky family received a LEGO Star Wars set as a surprise gift. The Lacey family (Donna, Joe, Oliver & Harry) were all smiles as they joined the throngs in the STEAM Museum.

This years GWLS is going very well; things have been a little quieter on Sunday morning than they were on Saturday, which was a relief, but apparently there have been problems with the roads around the Museum, but just we've been told they are now clear, so we're expecting another surge in numbers!

We're now live on Flickr

We've just launched the official Great Western LEGO Show group on Flickr. You can find it here -

Setup is going well; many exhibitors have been delayed getting here due to the bad weather & various bits of road being closed (a major incident on the M4 motorway near Swindon resulted in the road being closed earlier), but everything is going smoothly now.
