Doctor Sinister makes Space for STEAM

Doctor Sinister with the ISS Europa

It's not every day that we interview the ruler of a whole country for the Great Western LEGO Show website, so it must be a pretty special day - even if that country sits on a table. Last year that country's army and navy were on parade at the show and were very popular exhibits.

Doctor Sinister is one of the great characters of the Brickish Association. A master of costume and disguise, whether it's an eyepatch, a boater, or a fez and bow tie, he is always impecably turned out. His models match his personality perfectly, demonstrating a superb mix of building skill and creative genius. I asked him to explain the appeal of the hobby. "LEGO is a very tactile medium and great for de-stressing after a hard day at work. Being creative is fun and can bring out the artist in you."
